Situated in Guinayangan, Quezon, Barangay Tikay is one of 54 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

This made it the 37th largest of 54 barangays in Guinayangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tikay accounted for approximately 0.89% of the total population of Guinayangan, which stood at 44,045 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tikay changed from 385 to 393, a shift of +2.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Guinayangan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tikay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
