Barangay Barbo

Situated in Guiuan, Eastern Samar, Barangay Barbo is one of 60 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Barbo had a population of 826. This made it the 20th largest of 60 barangays in Guiuan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Barbo accounted for approximately 1.55% of the total population of Guiuan, which stood at 53,361 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Barbo moving from 835 residents to 826 residents, an intercensal change of -1.1%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Barbo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
