Barangay Bungtod

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bungtod is one of the administrative divisions of Guiuan in Eastern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bungtod had a population of 1,041. This made it the 15th largest of 60 barangays in Guiuan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bungtod accounted for approximately 1.95% of the total population of Guiuan, which stood at 53,361 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bungtod moving from 1,072 residents to 1,041 residents, an intercensal change of -2.9%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Bungtod is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Guiuan is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bungtod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
