Barangay Piape II

Barangay Piape II is a small barangay in the municipality of Hamtic, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Piape II had a population of 682. This made it the 33rd largest of 47 barangays in Hamtic by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Piape II accounted for approximately 1.29% of the total population of Hamtic, which stood at 52,685 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Piape II changed from 612 to 682, a shift of +11.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Hamtic. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Piape II as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Hamtic is a municipality comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Piape II, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Antique, which contains 590 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Piape II ranks 331st by 2020 population.
