Barangay San Juan

Barangay San Juan is a small barangay in the municipality of Hinatuan, located in the province of Surigao Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Juan had a population of 1,419. This made it the 14th largest of 24 barangays in Hinatuan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Juan accounted for approximately 3.24% of the total population of Hinatuan, which stood at 43,841 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Juan moving from 1,226 residents to 1,419 residents, an intercensal change of +15.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Juan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
