Barangay Balungisan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Balungisan is one of the administrative divisions of Imelda in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Balungisan had a population of 576. This made it the 16th largest of 18 barangays in Imelda by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balungisan accounted for approximately 2.21% of the total population of Imelda, which stood at 26,020 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balungisan moving from 512 residents to 576 residents, an intercensal change of +12.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community.
