Barangay Caraudan

Barangay Caraudan is a small barangay in the municipality of Janiuay, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Caraudan had a population of 1,300. This made it the 18th largest of 60 barangays in Janiuay by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caraudan accounted for approximately 1.95% of the total population of Janiuay, which stood at 66,786 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Caraudan moving from 924 residents to 1,300 residents, an intercensal change of +40.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Caraudan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Janiuay is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Caraudan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
