Barangay Dabong

Situated in Janiuay, Iloilo, Barangay Dabong is one of 60 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Dabong had a population of 1,184. This made it the 22nd largest of 60 barangays in Janiuay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Dabong accounted for approximately 1.77% of the total population of Janiuay, which stood at 66,786 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Dabong changed from 1,119 to 1,184, a shift of +5.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Janiuay. Barangay Dabong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Janiuay is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dabong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
