Barangay Damires

Barangay Damires is a small barangay in the municipality of Janiuay, located in the province of Iloilo, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Damires had a population of 1,285. This made it the 19th largest of 60 barangays in Janiuay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Damires accounted for approximately 1.92% of the total population of Janiuay, which stood at 66,786 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Damires changed from 1,269 to 1,285, a shift of +1.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Janiuay. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Damires as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Janiuay is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Damires, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
