Barangay Pangilihan

Situated in Janiuay, Iloilo, Barangay Pangilihan is one of 60 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pangilihan had a population of 1,101. This made it the 26th largest of 60 barangays in Janiuay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pangilihan accounted for approximately 1.65% of the total population of Janiuay, which stood at 66,786 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 994 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,101 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pangilihan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
