Barangay Sarawag

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Sarawag is one of the administrative divisions of Janiuay in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Sarawag had a population of 655. This made it the 45th largest of 60 barangays in Janiuay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sarawag accounted for approximately 0.98% of the total population of Janiuay, which stood at 66,786 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Sarawag moving from 582 residents to 655 residents, an intercensal change of +12.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Sarawag as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Janiuay is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sarawag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
