Situated in Javier, Leyte, Barangay Magsaysay is one of 28 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Magsaysay had a population of 335. This made it the 26th largest of 28 barangays in Javier by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Magsaysay accounted for approximately 1.26% of the total population of Javier, which stood at 26,658 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Magsaysay moving from 337 residents to 335 residents, an intercensal change of -0.6%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Magsaysay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
