Barangay Poblacion District I

Barangay Poblacion District I is a small barangay in the municipality of Julita, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion District I had a population of 581. This made it the 13th largest of 26 barangays in Julita by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion District I accounted for approximately 3.72% of the total population of Julita, which stood at 15,598 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion District I changed from 568 to 581, a shift of +2.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Julita. Barangay Poblacion District I is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Julita is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion District I, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
