Barangay San Andres

Situated in Julita, Leyte, Barangay San Andres is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay San Andres had a population of 410. This made it the 16th largest of 26 barangays in Julita by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Andres accounted for approximately 2.63% of the total population of Julita, which stood at 15,598 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay San Andres changed from 404 to 410, a shift of +1.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Julita. Barangay San Andres is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Julita is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Andres, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
