Barangay Tagkip

Situated in Julita, Leyte, Barangay Tagkip is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tagkip had a population of 244. This made it the 24th largest of 26 barangays in Julita by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tagkip accounted for approximately 1.56% of the total population of Julita, which stood at 15,598 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tagkip changed from 177 to 244, a shift of +37.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Julita. Barangay Tagkip is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Julita is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tagkip, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
