Barangay Kipit

Situated in Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte, Barangay Kipit is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Kipit had a population of 3,476. This made it the 3rd largest of 20 barangays in Labason by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Kipit accounted for approximately 7.91% of the total population of Labason, which stood at 43,934 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Kipit moving from 3,364 residents to 3,476 residents, an intercensal change of +3.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Kipit as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
