Barangay New Salvacion

Situated in Labason, Zamboanga Del Norte, Barangay New Salvacion is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay New Salvacion had a population of 778. This made it the 19th largest of 20 barangays in Labason by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay New Salvacion accounted for approximately 1.77% of the total population of Labason, which stood at 43,934 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay New Salvacion changed from 822 to 778, a shift of -5.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Labason. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay New Salvacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
