Barangay Basak

Situated in Lantapan, Bukidnon, Barangay Basak is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Northern Mindanao.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Basak had a population of 3,752. This made it the 9th largest of 14 barangays in Lantapan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Basak accounted for approximately 5.69% of the total population of Lantapan, which stood at 65,974 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Basak moving from 3,373 residents to 3,752 residents, an intercensal change of +11.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Basak is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lantapan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Basak, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
