Barangay Poblacion 7

Barangay Poblacion 7 is a very small barangay in the municipality of Lawaan, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion 7 had a population of 488. This made it the 10th largest of 16 barangays in Lawaan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion 7 accounted for approximately 3.75% of the total population of Lawaan, which stood at 13,003 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 556 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 488 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -12.2%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Poblacion 7 is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lawaan is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion 7, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
