Barangay Guinob-an

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Guinob-an is one of the administrative divisions of Lawaan in Eastern Samar, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Guinob-an had a population of 1,036. This made it the 7th largest of 16 barangays in Lawaan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Guinob-an accounted for approximately 7.97% of the total population of Lawaan, which stood at 13,003 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Guinob-an changed from 1,015 to 1,036, a shift of +2.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Lawaan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Guinob-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lawaan is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Guinob-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Guinob-an ranks 139th by 2020 population.
