Barangay Salvacion

Situated in Lingig, Surigao Del Sur, Barangay Salvacion is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Salvacion had a population of 453. This made it the 17th largest of 18 barangays in Lingig by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salvacion accounted for approximately 1.29% of the total population of Lingig, which stood at 35,142 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 449 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 453 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.9%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Salvacion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lingig is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Salvacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Surigao Del Sur, which contains 309 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Salvacion ranks 298th by 2020 population.
