Barangay Bagacay Kawayan

Barangay Bagacay Kawayan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Loon, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagacay Kawayan had a population of 381. This made it the 46th largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagacay Kawayan accounted for approximately 0.86% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 373 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 381 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +2.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagacay Kawayan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loon is a municipality comprising 67 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagacay Kawayan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
