Barangay Basdacu

Barangay Basdacu is a small barangay in the municipality of Loon, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Basdacu had a population of 866. This made it the 19th largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Basdacu accounted for approximately 1.96% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Basdacu moving from 912 residents to 866 residents, an intercensal change of -5.0%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Basdacu as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
