Barangay Bongco

Barangay Bongco is a very small barangay in the municipality of Loon, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bongco had a population of 429. This made it the 41st largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bongco accounted for approximately 0.97% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bongco moving from 415 residents to 429 residents, an intercensal change of +3.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bongco as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
