Barangay Pondol

Barangay Pondol is a small barangay in the municipality of Loon, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pondol had a population of 1,721. This made it the 2nd largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pondol accounted for approximately 3.89% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Pondol moving from 1,593 residents to 1,721 residents, an intercensal change of +8.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pondol as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loon is a municipality comprising 67 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pondol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
