Situated in Loon, Bohol, Barangay Song-on is one of 67 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Song-on had a population of 737. This made it the 24th largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Song-on accounted for approximately 1.67% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Song-on changed from 686 to 737, a shift of +7.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Loon.
