Barangay Tontonan

Situated in Loon, Bohol, Barangay Tontonan is one of 67 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

This made it the 27th largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tontonan accounted for approximately 1.57% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tontonan changed from 696 to 695, a shift of -0.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Loon. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tontonan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loon is a municipality comprising 67 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tontonan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
