Barangay Ubayon

Situated in Loon, Bohol, Barangay Ubayon is one of 67 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Ubayon had a population of 674. This made it the 30th largest of 67 barangays in Loon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ubayon accounted for approximately 1.52% of the total population of Loon, which stood at 44,224 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 707 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 674 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -4.7%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Ubayon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Loon is a municipality comprising 67 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ubayon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ubayon ranks 784th by 2020 population. Bohol is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
