Situated in Lopez, Quezon, Barangay Bagacay is one of 95 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagacay had a population of 633. This made it the 53rd largest of 95 barangays in Lopez by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagacay accounted for approximately 0.67% of the total population of Lopez, which stood at 94,657 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 631 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 633 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.3%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagacay as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Lopez is a municipality comprising 95 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagacay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
