Barangay Cawayanin

Barangay Cawayanin is a small barangay in the municipality of Lopez, located in the province of Quezon, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cawayanin had a population of 568. This made it the 58th largest of 95 barangays in Lopez by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cawayanin accounted for approximately 0.60% of the total population of Lopez, which stood at 94,657 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cawayanin moving from 723 residents to 568 residents, an intercensal change of -21.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Cawayanin as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
