This made it the 24th largest of 95 barangays in Lopez by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Santo Niño Ilaya changed from 1,174 to 1,218, a shift of +3.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Lopez.
