Barangay Dolores forms part of Mabalacat City, a city in Pampanga, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Dolores had a population of 4,305. This made it the 15th largest of 27 barangays in Mabalacat City by population, placing it in the middle tier of the city. Residents of Barangay Dolores accounted for approximately 1.47% of the total population of Mabalacat City, which stood at 293,244 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,841 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 4,305 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +51.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Dolores as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Mabalacat City is a city comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Dolores, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Pampanga, which contains 538 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Dolores ranks 184th by 2020 population.
