Barangay Calamias

Situated in Mabini, Batangas, Barangay Calamias is one of 34 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Calamias had a population of 1,143. This made it the 22nd largest of 34 barangays in Mabini by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calamias accounted for approximately 2.25% of the total population of Mabini, which stood at 50,858 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,123 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,143 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.8%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Calamias is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mabini is a municipality comprising 34 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calamias, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
