Barangay Santo Rosario

Barangay Santo Rosario is a large barangay in the municipality of Magalang, located in the province of Pampanga, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santo Rosario had a population of 5,235. This made it the 6th largest of 27 barangays in Magalang by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santo Rosario accounted for approximately 4.22% of the total population of Magalang, which stood at 124,188 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,624 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,235 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santo Rosario is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Magalang is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santo Rosario, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Barangay Santo Rosario is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
