Barangay Tibiawan

Situated in Makato, Aklan, Barangay Tibiawan is one of 18 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tibiawan had a population of 950. This made it the 15th largest of 18 barangays in Makato by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tibiawan accounted for approximately 3.20% of the total population of Makato, which stood at 29,717 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tibiawan changed from 869 to 950, a shift of +9.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Makato. Barangay Tibiawan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
