Barangay Little Baguio

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Little Baguio is one of the administrative divisions of Malita in Davao Occidental, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Little Baguio had a population of 12,201. This made it the 2nd largest of 30 barangays in Malita by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Little Baguio accounted for approximately 10.32% of the total population of Malita, which stood at 118,197 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 11,317 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 12,201 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Little Baguio is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Malita is a municipality comprising 30 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Little Baguio, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Occidental, which contains 105 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Little Baguio ranks 2nd by 2020 population. Davao Occidental is classified as a 4th by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Little Baguio is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
