Situated in Mambusao, Capiz, Barangay Cala-agus is one of 26 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Cala-agus had a population of 959. This made it the 19th largest of 26 barangays in Mambusao by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cala-agus accounted for approximately 2.36% of the total population of Mambusao, which stood at 40,690 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cala-agus changed from 951 to 959, a shift of +0.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Mambusao.
