Barangay Umabay Interior

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Umabay Interior is one of the administrative divisions of Mobo in Masbate, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Umabay Interior had a population of 1,737. This made it the 10th largest of 29 barangays in Mobo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Umabay Interior accounted for approximately 4.25% of the total population of Mobo, which stood at 40,823 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,745 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,737 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.5%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Umabay Interior is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Mobo is a municipality comprising 29 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Umabay Interior, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Masbate, which contains 550 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Umabay Interior ranks 174th by 2020 population.
