Barangay Iglau-an

Situated in Murcia, Negros Occidental, Barangay Iglau-an is one of 23 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Iglau-an had a population of 2,275. This made it the 17th largest of 23 barangays in Murcia by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Iglau-an accounted for approximately 2.56% of the total population of Murcia, which stood at 88,868 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,081 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,275 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Iglau-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Murcia is a municipality comprising 23 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Iglau-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
