Barangay Daramuangan

Barangay Daramuangan forms part of Naguilian, a municipality in La Union, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Daramuangan had a population of 1,185. This made it the 19th largest of 37 barangays in Naguilian by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Daramuangan accounted for approximately 2.27% of the total population of Naguilian, which stood at 52,189 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Daramuangan changed from 1,200 to 1,185, a shift of -1.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Naguilian. Barangay Daramuangan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Naguilian is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Daramuangan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Daramuangan ranks 281st by 2020 population.
