Situated in Odiongan, Romblon, Barangay Poctoy is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poctoy had a population of 2,450. This made it the 7th largest of 25 barangays in Odiongan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poctoy accounted for approximately 4.97% of the total population of Odiongan, which stood at 49,284 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,370 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,450 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poctoy as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Odiongan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poctoy, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
