Barangay Batang-baglas

Situated in Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat, Barangay Batang-baglas is one of 40 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Batang-baglas had a population of 1,470. This made it the 35th largest of 40 barangays in Palimbang by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Batang-baglas accounted for approximately 1.58% of the total population of Palimbang, which stood at 92,828 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Batang-baglas changed from 1,382 to 1,470, a shift of +6.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Palimbang. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Batang-baglas as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Palimbang is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Batang-baglas, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
