Barangay Butril

Barangay Butril forms part of Palimbang, a municipality in Sultan Kudarat, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Butril had a population of 2,255. This made it the 16th largest of 40 barangays in Palimbang by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Butril accounted for approximately 2.43% of the total population of Palimbang, which stood at 92,828 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Butril changed from 2,268 to 2,255, a shift of -0.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Palimbang. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Butril as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Palimbang is a municipality comprising 40 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Butril, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
