Barangay Cambakbak

Situated in Palompon, Leyte, Barangay Cambakbak is one of 50 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cambakbak had a population of 1,005. This made it the 21st largest of 50 barangays in Palompon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cambakbak accounted for approximately 1.72% of the total population of Palompon, which stood at 58,313 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Cambakbak changed from 972 to 1,005, a shift of +3.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Palompon. Barangay Cambakbak is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Palompon is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cambakbak, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cambakbak ranks 623rd by 2020 population.
