Barangay Himarco

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Himarco is one of the administrative divisions of Palompon in Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Himarco had a population of 921. This made it the 29th largest of 50 barangays in Palompon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Himarco accounted for approximately 1.58% of the total population of Palompon, which stood at 58,313 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Himarco moving from 1,039 residents to 921 residents, an intercensal change of -11.4%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Himarco is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
