Barangay Tinago

Barangay Tinago is a small barangay in the municipality of Palompon, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tinago had a population of 1,133. This made it the 18th largest of 50 barangays in Palompon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tinago accounted for approximately 1.94% of the total population of Palompon, which stood at 58,313 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tinago moving from 919 residents to 1,133 residents, an intercensal change of +23.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Tinago is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Palompon is a municipality comprising 50 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tinago, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
