Barangay Tamayoc

Situated in Patnongon, Antique, Barangay Tamayoc is one of 36 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Tamayoc had a population of 1,335. This made it the 9th largest of 36 barangays in Patnongon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tamayoc accounted for approximately 3.48% of the total population of Patnongon, which stood at 38,329 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tamayoc changed from 1,330 to 1,335, a shift of +0.4% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Patnongon. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Tamayoc as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Patnongon is a municipality comprising 36 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tamayoc, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
