Barangay Leona

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Leona is one of the administrative divisions of Pilar in Sorsogon, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Leona had a population of 351. This made it the 48th largest of 49 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Leona accounted for approximately 0.46% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 75,793 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Leona moving from 337 residents to 351 residents, an intercensal change of +4.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Leona as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Leona, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
