Barangay Villavieja

Situated in Pilar, Abra, Barangay Villavieja is one of 19 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Villavieja had a population of 201. This made it the 19th largest of 19 barangays in Pilar by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Villavieja accounted for approximately 1.98% of the total population of Pilar, which stood at 10,146 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Villavieja changed from 205 to 201, a shift of -2.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Pilar. Barangay Villavieja is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pilar is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Villavieja, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
