Barangay Buenavista

Situated in Pio Duran, Albay, Barangay Buenavista is one of 33 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buenavista had a population of 1,147. This made it the 17th largest of 33 barangays in Pio Duran by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buenavista accounted for approximately 2.34% of the total population of Pio Duran, which stood at 49,070 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,247 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,147 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -8.0%, consistent with a contracting settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buenavista as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pio Duran is a municipality comprising 33 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buenavista, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
